Dix Classic Race Recap
On Sunday March 5th 2023, at this year's annual Dix Classic Criterium, Clayton Travis of Velocious Sport broke away from a 2-rider breakaway to lap the field and secure 1st place in the Men's Cat 1/2/3 group— several minutes ahead of the end to their 70-minute race. Upon lapping the field, Clayton took a lap or so to move up through the pack and return to the front, now in service of his teammates who'd spent the first half of this race wearing down the field in preparation for his initial attack. In the first half of the race— it was laregly the brothers' Woodard executing counter-attack after counter-attack, staying in communication, and ultimately executing a team strategy that secured their win. Strategy in-motion, sweater weather, and clear skies made for the best sideline vibes anyone could have asked for.
